The forthcoming 11th Assembly of the World Council of Churches (WCC) is an opportunity for churches to proclaim a message of the good news of love and liberation, according the moderator of the WCC central committee, Dr Agnes Abuom.

As it concluded its meeting in Cyprus, held from 9-16 January, the WCC Assembly Planning Committee released a report to the WCC Executive Committee detailing building blocks for the 11th WCC Assembly, to be held in Karlsruhe, Germany in 2021.

The gathering took place at the Orthodox Academy of Crete in Kolympari, Greece. The 10th Assembly, the highest governing body of the WCC, is scheduled to convene in Busan, South Korea in October 2013.
